There may be an announcement as soon as today regarding the William Byrd baseball coaching vacancy. After Steve Sizemore's unexpected resignation, the Terrier skipper job became a very sought after position.
Confirmed names that applied/interviewed are-
FL Slough (long time Franklin County baseball coach)
Chris Carr ('94 Byrd Graduate and Staunton River basketball coach.)
David Mitchell ( Current WBMS baseball coach.)
Gene Riggs (Assistant Varsity coach from '93-97, head coach from '98-'06.)
Rumors have swirled about who would get the nod and the wait could be over as soon as today.
We at the Voice have heard several situations being thrown around, including a "co-coaching" option.
